Cargill Value Investment is a world-leading investor in management and credit-intensive assets.

The group was founded in 1987 from Cargill’s proprietary high-yield trading operations and achieved critical mass in the wake of the United States financial crisis of the early 1990s. Throughout the decade, Cargill Value Investment expanded to include high-yield distressed corporate obligations, credit-intensive loan portfolios and opportunistic real estate across the globe. With this growth came the challenge of distributing and managing information in a decentralized environment.

In our pursuit of a solution to this business problem, we developed a data warehouse. However, this only solved half the problem. Now that we have a single source of truth, how do we make it accessible to our end users with minimal training and disruption? The answer to that for us is XLCubed - a product that seamlessly integrates with Excel and is intuitive to use. A critical success factor in the process of implementing this solution has been the support that the XLCubed staff has been able to give us both in terms of XLCubed and the design/implementation of our Analysis Service cubes which are being used across the globe.
