Version 9.1 of XLCubed was launched on November 22nd at a customer and partner event held in the Royal Society in London. It is a spectacular venue, with a long and distinguished history dating back to 1660, and with past presidents including Christopher Wren and Isaac Newton to name but two.
The morning session was partner focused, bringing together a cross-section of XLCubed partners from across Europe to share approach and experience. Partners are a key component of XLCubed's overall business and we are keen to ensure there is opportunity for partners to engage and build a sense of community. It was a great forum for us to get a consolidated understanding of the different markets represented and to build some consensus on partners' views of the product's strengths and opportunity areas.
Version 9.1 Launch
With customers from a wide range of industry sectors joining us for lunch, the afternoon was primarily focused on the official launch of version 9.1. Sessions covered the key functionality areas which have been introduced and extended, including collaboration, Analytics, Reporting and Data Visualisation. We also ran through an end-to-end demo which involved building a mobile-friendly, interactive and responsive dashboard which blended real-time pricing data with an on-premise data Warehouse. One of our focus areas in the last 18 months has been widening the reach of XLCubed in terms of supported data sources, Analysis Services remains central but users are keen to use XLCubed on a much wider range of data platforms. This use-case proved an eye-opener for some of our customers in terms of new scenarios where they can make use of XLCubed.
A partner-led session by pmOne outlined how they position and use XLCubed in the DACH region, often in conjunction with their own complimentary product suite. The Q&A slot gave customers the opportunity to have their questions answered directly by the product team, and also to share their ideas and wishlist items.
It was an enjoyable and informative day, and the feedback has been very positive.
